The Gongwang Mansion Museum is affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China. It is a comprehensive public cultural institution integrating cultural relics protection, museum construction, tourism opening, cultural space creation, and cultural industry development.In 1982, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit and promoted to National 5 in 2012. A A tourist attraction, it was rated as a national first-class museum in 2017. As the most complete and only Qing Dynasty royal palace preserved in Beijing today, Prince Gong’s mansion has experienced more than 240 years of vicissitudes of life.Since the relocation and vacancies were initiated in 1978 and the full opening was reached in 2008, the people of Prince Gong’s mansion have fulfilled Premier Zhou Enlai’s last wish with 30 years of hard work.As a community museum based on the ruins of the Gong Mansion and with the royal palace culture as the core of research, display and dissemination, the Gong Mansion Museum strives to build "Peaceful Prince's Mansion, Academic Prince's Mansion, Digital Prince's Mansion, and Public Prince's Mansion".
